Contemporary Ecofeminist Education (CEE) is a research-creation project convened by Jo Pollitt and Nancy Mauro-flude with a chorus of co-conspirators that interrogates ecofeminism for the twenty-first century. CEE distils vast volumes of knowledge into a series of nanocredentials spinerolling onto asynchronous wooden stages, making visible the alignments of dance permacomputing poetics as relational embedded tactics for listening, making, thinking and feeling through 21st century ecofeminisms.
The researchers of CEE ask: What role does the poetic and performative nature of ecofeminism play in fostering relational and embodied tactics for social and environmental transformation?
- There are certain approaches within ecofeminism (e.g., militant veganism, essentialism) taht have been critiqued, how can the contemporary feminist movement continue to learn from these critiques, without being tokenistic, self righteous and divisive?
_Our quest is to avoid reifying (glamorising) ecofeminist practices (i.e., women as earth godess) or perspectives so we can address the systemic issues of race, class and the violence of colonialism with candid veracity, that opens our a space for future literaces.

CEE explores around a variety of propositions, such as:
The collective of CEE can be found on IG and we are currently working on detailed information and shoring up our self-hosted infrastructure, including an announce Email list , our research wiki, and how to be involved with CEE.
Further announcements here and via _socialz_ CEE InstaGram.

The first phase of CEE was a close reading of 1992-1994 Course Readers complied by Patsy Hallen - together we asked what themes still resonate, and what is in need of rethinking, through collaborating with a diverse range of peers, from the Pacific region, including custodians and local Aboriginal knowledge holders. We continue to apply our findings through respecting Indigenous Protocols to make True Tracks in our ongoing relations with a broad local community. CEE creatively addresses the gaps outlined by Val Plumwood and seeks to ensure they are not perpetuated in contemporary ecofeminist discourse.

CEE forms network faerie circuits (aka web rings) with local and international peoples and intermediaries. One example of this is the foundation code for this site is attributed to the magi (Manetta Berends, Joseph Knierzinger, Michael_Murtaugh of kindred school XPUB. Our mothership locus rests in Bonnet Hill above Tyenna Beach, formerly known as Promenalinah; in this site, the mountain freshwater flows into the entrance of the river to nipaluna/Hobart and to timtumili minanya Sea Country of Muwinina the South East people, also recorded as Mouhenneener. We acknowledge the devastating truth that they did not survive the invasion of colonisation. We recognise and respect the Indigenous custodians for the realm of Lutruwita/Tasmania, whose presence has endured since the first sunrise and where trade and ceremony have connected kin since time immemorial.
